Poinsettia Bowl!

Here I am at the Bowl game. Go Boise State Broncos!!!
Right before we headed to the game, we looked online to see where we were sitting. Yes, I bought tickets on the TCU side, not knowing. I just want to go on the record that we weren't the only Bronco fans on that side, but we were out numbered and not in the spirit of BRONCO NATION!

Ben and I are taking a poll on the better picture. He likes the way the one on the top and I like how I look in the bottom picture. I am not picture/photoshop savvy so I can't cut him out of one and add it to the better picture of me. So you get both pictures.

Boise State warming up.
We were sorry to see Boise State lose, but proud of their efforts. 16/17 score's not bad.

We Got a Deal!!!

So, Ben and I decided to go to San Diego for the Poinsettia Bowl. I told him to look at Hotels.com for good rates on rooms. As we were looking we found the Sofia Hotel. It offered a nice place to stay for a great price. There were great reviews and the price was right so we made reservations.
Now you know that I always have a story. Things just can't go right. I had a feeling that there had to be a catch with the price.
1st thing. You have to book exclusively with the Hotel in order to get the complimentary breakfast. This doesn't make it complimentary because an average night on their website is $135 a night. We paid $60. So in actuality you pay for your breakfast.
Second, there is no parking. You have to pay for Valet Parking which is $28 a day.
When we got up to our room, we were joking that they must know that we paid only $60 so they were going to get their $ anyway.
Last, Ben decided to get on the internet to see what shops were around and we found out that they charge $10 A DAY to get on the internet.
I then said, just watch, you're going to turn on the TV and we are going to have to pay for that too. Luckily after Ben fiddled with the wires for awhile the TV did start working without us having to pay for that too!
So what was suppose to be a GREAT DEAL on Hotels.com ended up costing us a HOLE in our Pockets.
Now imagine what service we would have gotten if we paid the full price. Either all the above free or more money out of pocket. Who can afford to stay here?
Addition: Today we needed to get something out of our car. So we had Valet take us to where our car was parked in their garage. Ben says that our Suburban was the cheapest car in there.
We are going to ask for the Maserati to be brought to us when we leave! We had a laugh when we imagined us driving the Aveo to the hotel and having it Valet parked.

BEWARE!!!

So, it's been a long time since I have posted.
This next picture is scary.
On Saturday I was having a NON Yard Sale. That means that I had taken everything out of my garage to clean it and sweep. My neighbor is happening to have a HOLIDAY SHOPPE at her house. So cars are driving by quite frequently. I happened to have a few people stop. They didn't even ask me if I was having a yard sale, they just started looking through my stuff. I had a lot of baby items stored, so that was the majority out there. I managed to sell 3 things and earned a whole $9.00 for a non yard sale. WOO-HOO!!!
Back to my scary story. So while I was cleaning, I found a box that carries an emergency car kit. I picked it up and started sorting throught the box so I could shut the lid and put it back in the car. When I went to move the jumper cables and saw a RATTLESNAKE lying in the box. I was sure it was dead. I tried to call Ben, but he didn't answer his phone and he wasn't due back for 3 hours. So I called my dad for some comfort. He told me to take a long stick and poke it to see if it was alive. Sure enough, the snakes tongue came out. I screamed a little. So then I proceeded to stay in the garage to watch the snake to make sure it didn't get out of the box and head towards the fridge or under a car or something else. After awhile I got bored and brave, so I moved the box very carefully out into the dirt and put the jumper cables back on the snake(I used a rake to move the cables). The snake didn't move so I was good. When Ben got home he flipped the box over with a shovel and got rid of the snake.
It's December we are not suppose to have snakes near. They should be in their den's hibernating, not in my garage. I think my total head count on Rattlesnakes on my property since we moved here is 10. That is 10 too many for me. I think our house was built on a den.

All I want for Christmas

Liam found this at Walmart. A lady saw him sitting on the dinosaur and said, "You should take his picture." I happened to have my camera, for once.
Liam tells me, "His name is KODA. Koda is my friend. I want Koda. I like Koda."

The magic of losing your first tooth!!!

Aiden came home yesterday after school and wanted to have an apple for a snack. He kept complaining that it hurt his tooth to bite down. After a few bites he asked me to get out the floss. (In our family I like to tie a piece of floss around the tooth and have the kids keep wiggling their tooth. Corwin's experience with floss is not so good. I am very demanding that the floss has to get around the whole tooth or it won't work. Corwin had floss hanging from his mouth for a few days sometimes because once it's tied on, it's on. He thought it hurt too much to pull. Needless to say, eventually mom would get impatient and just get the tooth out!)
So Aiden and I went into the bathroom to get the famous floss. I tried a few times to get the floss around but it kept slipping off the tooth. Which also kept loosening his tooth. After a few tries I finally got the floss to stay and as I was tieing it I pulled straight up, the floss slipped and out fell his tooth!!! Aiden was so shocked and so HAPPY. He started bouncing like Tigger. What an exciting time.
Because I wasn't blogging last year I didn't get to capture Corwin losing his first tooth. As I was looking back at pictures to find his picture, the date was written November 20,2007. Aiden lost his tooth November 18,2008. That is one day away from being exactly a year(February had 29 days this year!). I think Corwin lost his second tooth in December so we will see about Aiden!!!!

Using Vocabulary!

This past month Corwin has been trying out new words. Last Sunday we were in church and during Sharing Time the teacher asked in what ways can our parents show love to us. Corwin raised his hand and said, " My mom and dad express their love to me by giving me hugs." As a mom I was happy to see him use the correct word and such a Big word for his age. Tonight I decided to venture out and make my own spaghetti sauce, one because Corwin really wanted spaghetti for dinner, and two I didn't have any Prego handy. So as I was making the sauce he came into the kitchen and asked me what I was making? I told him I was making my own spaghetti sauce. He looked at it as I was putting in tomato paste and said, "Wow I didn't know that you put raw sewage in spaghetti!!!!!!!!!!!" I tried to explain that he was using the wrong word, but he ran off before I could correct him. I just started laughing and had to share it with everyone! As he keeps trying to use words I will post all his funnies so I can look back and have a great laugh.

Corwin's 8th Birthday!!!

What a wonderful weekend we had, September 19-22. My mom and Ben's mom and dad came from Idaho. My brother Alan came with his family from Washington. My nephew Andy came from Utah ,my sister Leanne and her family came from Mesa, AZ.Ben's brother Dan and his wife and daughter came from Tucson. It was so nice to have our family together. I had my dad missing,my neice Sarah,my nephew Daren, my sister Karyn and her family , Ben's sister and brother from Idaho and their families. I hope we can get all together soon.
It all started about 6 months ago when I was talking to Corwin about being baptized. Ben and I had told Corwin that he had the choice of who he wanted to baptize him. I later asked Corwin who he wanted. He said that he wanted my brother Alan to baptized him, because he knew how much I missed him and that it would get him to come see us. Also he added that he wanted to see the boy who called him obnoxious punk(my nephew Dave).
I emailed Alan with the grand request and he replied that they would be there whether Corwin wanted him to baptize or not.
Corwin was baptized on September 21 after church. I thought that is was such a spiritual experience to be on a Sunday.
The picture speaks a thousand words of what is truly means to be an eternal family.

Happy Halloween!!

We got to celebrate twice! Pomerene School had our annual carnival on Thursday night. The boys got to enjoy a haunted mule ride, play games and eat junk all night.
Friday, the boys wanted to go Trick or Treating so we went to Benson Heights area. There are a lot of retired people up there and they were so happy to see the kids all dressed up. One couple was showing a movie of Young Frankenstein outside on their garage. Corwin wanted to know if we could come back and sit in our car and just watch all night! Liam fell asleep, he didn't get his nap. Aiden was just happy to be Sonic the Hedgehog and show off.
Towards the end we ended up at a Haunted House. The boys wanted the candy so bad that they decided to get out of the car. I had to do some convincing that they were just people like mommy and dadddy dressed in costumes. Someone asked Corwin if he wanted to inside and he started to head inside when he said he realized that he saw people going in, but no one coming out. He and Aiden then ran to the car, jumped in and rolled up the windows as fast as they could.
They were done after that!!!
About the costumes, Aiden had to be Sonic the Hedgehog. So I found the hat online. Then we bought a blue outfit. I added fleece to the front of his shirt, bought gloves and Ben made the beautiful spikes. We were very pleased with the outcome.
Corwin wanted to be a Clone Trooper. His birthday was in September so it was a great time to buy a costume.
Liam has many stories. I had no clue what to do for him. Corwin had been Bob the Builder when he was 2 so I thought that. So Thursday night he was that. That night he found a spiderman costume and ninja outfit in my pile of costumes. So he tried them all on and Friday ended up going as a Ninja, a sleeping Ninja!

Boise State Wins!!!

Ben and his brother Dan took Corwin and Aiden to the Boise State Football Game in New Mexico on Saturday. They sat a few feet away from Ian Johnson's wife Christy. In Boise, that's a big deal.
During half time Ben took the boys to get hotdogs and drinks and Christy asked Aiden to dance with her. He was embarrassed. Later Ben convinced the boys to get a picture of her. Ben also took a picture of her with Ian Johnson. This post is for my sister in law Caressa. She is secretly in love with Ian!!!

Starting My Blog

So everyone has been talking about this blogging thing. I decided that I better start one to keep up with everyone. Since I don't scrapbook or journal anymore, this seemed like the perfect thing.
